Use the 'Forgot password' link on the signin page. Coinbase will email a reset link to your registered address. If you no longer have access to that email, follow Coinbase's account recovery steps — be prepared to verify identity with provided documents.
Public Wi-Fi can expose traffic to attackers. If you must use it, avoid password entry unless you use a trusted VPN and ensure you are on the correct coinbase.com domain. Prefer your mobile data or a secure home/work network.
Coinbase enforces KYC standards and extra verification for account security. When signins originate from unfamiliar environments, extra identity checks protect both the user and Coinbase from fraud.
If you lose access to your 2FA app: use backup recovery codes you saved during setup, or initiate Coinbase account recovery. Recovery can require ID verification and proof of ownership (transaction history, payment method). Keep backup codes in a secure, offline location.
Check the URL closely for typos or additional words (e.g. coinbase-login.com). Look for HTTPS and the padlock; however, HTTPS isn't sufficient alone. Trust only links from official Coinbase emails, and when in doubt, type coinbase.com manually.
Coinbase allows remembering devices for a limited period; however, for security you might prefer not to. If you choose 'remember this device', monitor device lists in account settings and revoke unknown devices immediately.
